I am stressed. Perhaps you are as well. The world is in such chaos and life stuff is persistent. Dog ailments, car issues, doctor and dentist appointments, work, family. Good and bad, life doesn’t stop even when it seems the world is burning.
These levels of stress and the accompanying symptoms of headaches, body tension and pain, poor sleep, and fatigue led me to shift to a new counselor for this phase of my life. I knew a counselor couldn’t save me from the stresses of life, but thought she could possibly guide me into finding more moments of inner peace. Through movement and art therapy, I have realized that the whirlwind around us may never stop. Yet taking moments where we can to be creative, move and love our bodies, or just breathe can make all the difference. I won’t say that I am stress-free, but I do find those moments of peace more often lately. And having a bit of peace is allowing me more energy to do the things I can to create change in our world.

How about you? How is stress appearing in your life right now? If you are able, how are you finding moments of peace?
